Andrew K. Pongrátz
Andrew K. Pongrátz is an undergraduate student leader at the University of Arizona. He is studying philosophy, politics, economics, and law (PPEL) along with a secondary major in economics and minors in both international business and Spanish language. Outside of his classes, Andrew is deeply involved in various initiatives and projects across the University. He serves as a project analyst to the Student Engagement Team in the W.A. Franke Honors College, which supports students as they apply for prestigious nationally competitive scholarships. Off campus, Andrew is a clerk in downtown Tucson for the Untied States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona, a component of the U.S. Department of Justice. Outside of his work commitments, Andrew is one of the lead organizers for Hack Arizona, the university’s signature event on innovation and interdisciplinary design thinking. He proudly serves as a panelist for the University of Arizona Discourse Series and a debater for the award-winning University of Arizona Regents’ Cup speech and debate team, winning third place overall in the competition’s 2024 iteration. Additionally, he co-chairs the Margaret M. Briehl and Dennis T. Ray Five Star Faculty Award Committee and serves as a research assistant on poverty alleviation in the School of Sociology. Andrew enjoys being an amateur theatre critic and exploring the local food scene in Southern Arizona in his free time.
